Legion is  the largest permanent organization in the armies of ancient Rome.

The Roman legions were the fighting force which allowed Rome’s territories to expand across three continents.

A legion was composed of 6,000 soldiers, and each legion was divided up into 10 cohorts, with each cohort containing 6 centuria.

The Roman Army were incredibly well trained and organized, performing drills every single day. Tactically, they were very precise and the organization, leadership and logistics were also practiced often. Roman soldiers needed to be physically fit and strong above all else, and they needed to be able to take instructions and follow them without hesitation or question.
